Captain Kasey DeMings New Chair of Fish Safe NS Board of Directors

Captain Kasey DeMings is our new Chair of the Board of Directors of Fish Safe NS

My name is Kasey DeMings. I grew up in a small fishing village just outside of the town of Shelburne, NS, called Gunning Cove.

After high school, I pursued a career at sea with Atlantic Towing.

With that job, I was able to see the world and gain a variety of skills applicable to fishing and safety.

After six years of travelling, it was time to come home and start a new venture in the lobstering industry.

In 2013, I purchased my own license and boat and started applying all l learned about safety on my own boat.

After about a year (2014), I got involved with Fish Safe NS,

I strongly believe in the Fish Safe NS mission statement and have been a dedicated member since joining the organization.
